Herman and Margaret Schweim's Daughter Mildred
Mildred "Milda" Schweim was born on 23 May 1893, the second child of Herman and Margaret. Census records in 1900 and 1910 show her living in Detroit with her family.
In 1911, she is 18 years of age and listed in the Detroit City Directory working as a Clerk at the A L Schweim Company that is later known as Schweim's Bazaar.
Sadly, her mother passes away in December of 1914. Milda is 21 in 1914.
Marriage 24 November 1915
Mildred is married to John Patrick Ryan (born in Detroit on 25 June 1889). The couple have their first child, John Joseph "Jack" in 1917. Ancestry reports they live at 425 Hamilton in Detroit. Daughter Elaine M. is born on 24 December 1921.
1920 census records show the family living at 467 Mont Clair Avenue in Detroit. Husband John is listed as a Public School Teacher.
Poplar Beach Residences
The 1930 census shows the family living at 22828 Poplar Beach.
In 1937, they acquire title to the land in lot 1 and 2, then build the home at 21830 Jefferson. The 1940 census lists John P., Mildred, John J. and Elaine at 21830 Jefferson.
Many of the photos in this archive (including the one above) come from the collection of Patrick Ryan, son of John J. Ryan. When Mildred was living on Poplar Beach in 1930 are 22828 (from census records), she would have been 37, so the photo above is from years before 1930.

Death
Ancestry data from the Michigan Death Index reports that Mildred died on 10 August 1986 at 93 years of age; husband John P died at age 61 on 4 July 1950. Daughter Elaine Ryan continues to live at 21830 Jefferson until her death on 8 January 2011 at 89 years of age.
